Fixing Your Firebox
Inside of your home is another masonry component to your chimney: your firebox. It needs to be cleaned and maintained as well. It may occasionally need more involved repairs, up to and including new firebrick, fixing gaps or rebuilding. But as always, we’ll work with our customers on preventative measures so that a situation like this is far less likely to happen to them.
Tuckpointing & Repointing Services
The first of those alternative methods of preventative maintenance is the closely related options of tuckpointing and repointing. With tuckpointing, our technicians will remove any damaged mortar joints and replace them with new ones. And with repointing, we fill cracks and gaps with new material. After both processes have fully set, we’ll then apply a layer of waterproofing to protect your chimney.
